Elizabeth Pearl | The Lebanon Reporter
CORNSTALK WINNER: Isabella Forrester took home the prize for tallest cornstalk Wednesday at the Boone County 4-H Fair. Forrester's stalk was 152.125 inches tall. Nick Starkey came in second with a 151.25 inch stalk, and Grayson Forrester, Isabella Forrester's brother, came in third with a 149 inch stalk. Cassandra Forrester, Isabella and Grayson's mom, said that it was the first time her children had entered the competition. They got their stalks from Joe Stefanik, a neighbor. "We were invited to come snatch a stalk and we did," Cassandra Forrester said. Sixteen people entered the tallest cornstalk competition this year.
